Summary

Incoming Erasmus+ mobility

  • 7,714 students visited the Netherlands as part of their Erasmus+ exchange in 2020. 4,743 did so for study and 2,971 for an internship. The total number of visiting students decreased from 14,455 in 2019. This decline is likely due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Germany, France and Spain were the top 3 countries of origin for incoming mobility in 2020.

Outgoing Erasmus+ mobility

  • In 2020, 3,658 Dutch students participated in an Erasmus+ exchange. 1,661 went abroad for study and 1,997 for an internship. The total number of Dutch Erasmus+ exchange students decreased from 13,656 in 2019. This decline is likely due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • Germany, Spain and Belgium were the top 3 most popular destinations for Dutch Erasmus+ students in 2020.
